Why the address looks like that
The rebuild is served from a staging host and is deliberately hidden from Google — a second copy of the site competing with the live one would split its own rankings. That is also why none of this can earn a visit yet. On cutover day the same pages answer on modwella.com and the staging address goes away.

Why move

five reasons, each one measured

The site ships 2.6 MB of HTML to load a homepage. Ours ships 24 KB.

Measured on both hosts today. The Wix document is 114 times heavier before a single image loads, and 78% of Modwella's traffic is on a phone. First byte is also faster on the new host: 0.13s against 0.28s.

Five state pages are titled after a city, so they outrank their own city page.

The Idaho page is titled “Mobile IV Therapy in Boise, Idaho”. Google reads it as the Boise page, ranks it ninth, and buries the real Boise page on page three. Same pattern in Montana, Nevada, Texas and Washington. The fix is a title pass at cutover.

Ten URLs are indexed twice because the Business Profiles append tracking to their own links.

They carry 734 clicks, 14% of everything the site earns. The rebuild sets a self-referencing canonical on every page, which collapses them the moment DNS moves. It costs nothing and cannot happen on Wix.

The ads point at the booking store, not at the site.

All 13 live Meta ads land on modwella.zenoti.com. The 331 paid landing pages are built and unusable until the domain moves, because a paid page on a staging address cannot carry the brand.

Nothing new can rank until the domain moves.

Center pages, nurse pages and every new service page live on a staging URL that is deliberately hidden from Google. The work is done; the address is wrong.

What moving does not fix
A faster site does not create demand. Roughly 72% of Modwella’s organic traffic is people already typing the brand name, and the biggest non-brand asset is a blog post about supermarket electrolyte powder that sells nothing. Those are content problems, and they are the work that follows the cutover rather than a reason for it. The move is what makes that work able to rank at all.

What we need to launch

four of these block the flip · none of them are build work
WhatWhoseWhy it matters
Cutover go-ahead from Ryder and JosilynClient, via Brettblocks the flipNothing moves without it. Rollback is a DNS flip and the Wix site is never deleted.
Domain admin on modwella.comClient, via Brettblocks the flipBryce holds Wix site admin only. The DNS change needs access we do not have. Ask for it in the same message as the go-ahead.
Medical and advertising copy sign-offRyderblocks the flipSix items, all live on the current site. Includes a botox claim about collagen that is pharmacologically false, and a Nevada page that sells botox and disclaims it in the same breath.
A real inbound email address for the contact formClientblocks the flipThe build still carries a placeholder. Submissions need somewhere to land.
The regional text-a-nurse numbersClientbefore launchAll 11 state pages promise a number per region and list none. Either the numbers, or the sentence points at the main line.
Search Console access on their propertyClient / Max Connectbefore launchThe Wix sitemap is not a complete URL list. Their Search Console export is the only way to catch old slugs still earning clicks, so redirects cover everything.

Cutover day

the order of operations, about an hour of work
  1. 01Lower the DNS TTL 24 hours ahead.
  2. 02Point the A record at the new host. Wix stays untouched, so rollback is one record.
  3. 03Flip the site URL and the robots/sitemap switch from noindex to index.
  4. 04Strip the city names out of the five state-page titles.
  5. 05Verify a Business Profile tracking URL canonicalises to the clean page.
  6. 06Submit the sitemap in Search Console.
  7. 07Repoint the Meta ads at the paid landing pages.
The risk, stated plainly
The Wix site is never deleted and DNS is never moved to new nameservers, only a single A record. If anything looks wrong, that record goes back and the old site returns. Mail is unaffected: modwella.com runs live Google Workspace and the MX records are not touched.

Why this number matters more than any promise
This is the honest before. After the flip the same property keeps counting, so the comparison is like for like and does not depend on anyone taking our word for it. Search Console and Semrush disagree by roughly three times on this domain, so every report will name which source it used.
